Paul Dickov snubs Toronto FC for Leicester City
Paul Dickov won't be joining Toronto FC after all.
Dickov, 35, officially signed a two-year deal with English club Leicester City on Thursday.
The veteran striker was released by Manchester City at the end of the last English Premiership season.
The Scotsman had been linked with Toronto FC after he visited and trained with the Major League Soccer club last month.
But in the end, he decided to sign with Leicester, a club he played for between 2002 and 2004 when he scored 37 goals in 89 games.
"Paul has all of the attributes you require to succeed as a footballer. He has tremendous spirit and I am delighted to have been able to bring him here," Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson said.
"He is the sort of player who never believes the team is beaten. He breeds fear into defences and I am sure he will be a tremendous asset for us."
