Sean Hill bolts NHL for Swiss team
Veteran defenceman Sean Hill has ended his NHL career, at least for one season.
Hill, who helped the Montreal Canadiens win the 1993 Stanley Cup, signed a one-year contract to play for the Swiss club Biel.
Biel finished first in Switzerland's second division last season and was promoted to the top league through the playoffs.
Hill, 38, played 876 regular-season games in the NHL since 1992, ending last season in his home state with the Minnesota Wild.
Canadian forward David Ling, who played last season with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, previously signed with Biel.
