Vincent Lecavalier named NHL's 1st star

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Vincent Lecavalier was named the NHL's first star for the second week in a row Monday.

Lecavalier led the league in scoring last week with eight points (four goals, four assists) in just two games.

Lecavalier tied a career high with five points (three goals, two assists) in a 6-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes last Wednesday.

He followed that up by notching three points (one goal, two assists) in a 5-2 victory over the Washington Capitals on Friday, setting a franchise mark by tallying multiple points in his seventh consecutive game.

San Jose Sharks goaltender Evgeni Nabokov was the league's second star after going 3-0-1 with a 0.96 goals-against average and a .959 save percentage in four games as the Sharks moved into first place in the Pacific Division.

Nashville Predators winger Martin Erat was the third star.

Erat tallied two game-winning goals in three games and had six points overall (three goals, three assists).
